On July 28, Danzheng International, together with the WIFFA Shanghai Port Chapter, hosted a market exchange forum at the Danzheng conference room in Shanghai, themed New Opportunities in the South American Shipping Market Amid the New Trends of Chinese Outbound Trade. Nearly thirty freight forwarding enterprises engaged in or focusing on South American shipping routes were invited to the event, where they held pragmatic discussions covering market trends, localised operations, compliance and risk control.

To kick off the forum, Mr. Zhou Chengjing, Chairman of Danzheng International, delivered an opening address. As the presiding member enterprise of the WIFFA South America Booking Platform, the company is actively expanding its footprint across the South American market, striving to serve as a reliable partner for Chinese enterprises venturing into South America. Lou Jinguo, Chief Operations Officer, shared his early experiences operating in South America, noting that domestic operational experience alone cannot navigate the intricate local tax and customs clearance regulations. To address this challenge, Danzheng has forged in-depth partnerships with local Brazilian agents. Leveraging their strengths in warehousing, inland trucking and customs brokerage, the company has minimised operational risks. Meanwhile, its China-based team has adopted dynamically extended working hours to enable real-time communication and coordination with its Brazilian counterparts. At present, fine chemical products represented by agrochemicals remain the core of the company’s transportation portfolio, while orders for new energy vehicles and photovoltaic equipment have been steadily rising, emerging as new growth drivers. Other participating guests also gave presentations on their businesses and shipping routes respectively.
Subsequently, Fan Mengyang, President of Bank of Communications North Bund Sub-branch, delivered a market analysis from a financial perspective. Research data indicated that exports of auto parts, construction machinery, lithium batteries and other products have maintained double-digit growth for two consecutive years. Even with anticipated freight rate adjustments in the third quarter, demand for spare parts driven by cross-border e-commerce restocking and the localisation of new energy industries will continue to underpin the South American logistics market. He advised freight forwarders to seize shipping opportunities stemming from shifts in trade commodity structures, rather than focusing solely on fluctuations in freight rates.
Afterwards, Wu Wenqiang, Secretary-General of WIFFA Shanghai Port Chapter, introduced the Chachakan (Check & View) Platform. By consolidating industrial and commercial records, judicial files and industry credit data, the platform provides credit rating services for member enterprises. Integrating freight rate inquiries, sailing schedule comparisons, customs clearance policies and other functions, it helps small and medium-sized freight forwarders cut information acquisition costs and improve decision-making efficiency.
Finally, Chen Xiang, Branch Director of WIFFA Shanghai Port, wrapped up the forum. He stated that the true value of the platform lies not merely in hosting events, but in enabling all participating enterprises to identify complementary partners. This allows businesses with varied positioning to reap tangible benefits: enterprises with competitive edges can showcase their core strengths, those with cargo resources can secure reliable partners efficiently, and reputable firms can further consolidate their standing within the industry. He also proposed that the Shanghai Port Chapter organise regular practical exchange sessions to share operational lessons, jointly formulate solutions and guard against potential industry pitfalls.
During the open discussion session that followed, enterprises with steady cargo volumes put forward their demands directly, seeking reliable main carriers with ample container space on South American routes. First-tier freight forwarders, in turn, presented their respective strengths and resource advantages in South America. Guests exchanged business cards and engaged in extensive conversations throughout the session, creating a vibrant and enthusiastic atmosphere. Many enterprises commented that this interactive format is far more business-oriented than large-scale, fragmented conferences.

Though the event has concluded, in-depth collaboration along South American shipping routes has only just commenced. Danzheng International will keep refining its localised service capabilities in Brazil, deepen synergistic cooperation with WIFFA, and support more Chinese enterprises to steadily explore the promising emerging market of South America.
